PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a structure of a wire cleaning mechanism, and clean off slurry adhered to a wire efficiently without the need of consumable items such as cleaning solvent. SOLUTION: While a wire 18 applied between a plurality of finishing rollers at a specified pitch is run, slurry containing free abrasive grains is supplied onto the wire 18, and a work is brought into contact with the wire 18 for starting finishing. In the running route of the wire 18, a cleaning member 31 is arranged so as to clean off slurry adhered to the wire 18 by pressingly touching the outer peripheral surface of the wire 18 from one side. |
