摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium having a recording density above 5 gigabit/square inch and a magnetic disk device. SOLUTION: A ferromagnetic metallic thin film 3 of <=1.3×10<-15> emu in the product V.Isb of activation volume and spontaneous magnetization at a remanence coercive force point and >=2400 oersted in the remanence coercive force and 2.06×10<-12> /(v.Isb ) to 3.40×10<-12> /(v.Isb ) is used as a magnetic layer and is combined with a magnetic head formed with the ferromagnetic thin film as part of magnetic poles.
