PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication equipment that enhances operating convenience in the case of utilizing a service served in a communication network. SOLUTION: When a control circuit 8 detects it that the user enters a retrieval condition (e.g. name information and area information) by using a key operation section 3, the control circuit 8 sends the retrieval condition to a telephone directory database 18 of the NIFTY-Service 17 via a portable telephone network 14 and an ISD network 16. Upon the receipt of the retrieval result (e.g. telephone number information) from the telephone directory database 18, the control circuit 8 displays the retrieval result on a display device 4. The user accesses singly the telephone directory database 18 to use the telephone directory database 18 and then the operating convenience of the telephone directory database 18 is enhanced.
