PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new DNA encoding a heat shock transcription-binding protein having a specific amino acid sequence, involved in the transcription control of heat shock protein essential for spermatogenesis and useful for e.g. the production of proteins for e.g. the diagnosis and treatment of spermatogenesis deficiency. SOLUTION: This new DNA encodes a protein having binding activity for heat shock transcription factor (HSF) 2 such as a DNA encoding a peptide having an amino acid sequence described in the formula, a DNA encoding a peptide having an amino acid sequence wherein one or more amino acids is (are) deleted, substituted, inserted or added in the amino acid sequence of the formula or a DNA hybridizable with these DNAs under stringent conditions and is useful for the research, diagnosis and treatment of spermatogenesis deficiency. This DNA is obtained by screening a library of human testis cDNA through an yeast two hybrid screening technique using, as a bait, a fused protein containing HSF2. |
