PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filling machine for a sheet bag which is excellent in performance, simple in structure, inexpensive and flexible. SOLUTION: In a filling machine provided with a transfer means to include a transfer member to feed a sheet bag to an opening, filling station and closing station and a closing station, the transfer means is provided with a first carrying means 6 including a first transfer member 2 to feed the sheet bags 1, 4 to an opening, filling and closing station 10 and a second carrying means 5 including a second transfer member 3 to feed the sheet bags to a cooling station 12, and a transfer station 11 to transfer the sheet bags to the second carrying means from the first carrying means is also provided. In this method to open, fill, close and cool the sheet bags, the sheet bags 1, 4 are fed to the opening, filling and closing station in the carrying direction at the first speed with the first interval, and the sheet bags are fed to the cooling station in the carrying direction at the second speed and with the second interval.
