<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera flash unit equipped with a linear symmetric flash light source supplying light defined as a light beam, a reflector for turning the light beam from the flash light source toward a related target surface and a refraction/TIR(total reflection) condensing lens element and illuminating the related target surface. SOLUTION: The reflector 102 is adjacent to either side surface of the flash light source 120. The refraction/TIR condensing lens element 130 has optical power in two orthogonal directions and is adjacent to other side surface of the light source 120. The element 130 has two surfaces, that is, a back surface S1 facing to the light source and a front surface S2 . Either of two surfaces is hybrid refraction/TIR surface S1 and the other surface is a reflecting surface S2 .</p> |
