PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit the release of the leaves and stem part after cutting through the space between the machine body and the driving wheels in order that the leaves and stem part after cutting may not trouble the harvesting operations in the following step. SOLUTION: This walking type harvester is equipped with the left and right driving wheels 9 that run on the valleys on both side of a ridge on which root crops are grown; the root crops-pulling out and conveying machine 22 that forms the way for nipping the leaves and stem part 16a growing on the ridge upper face upper-backward; the lower conveying part that is set beneath the pulling out and conveying machine 22 to form the lower nipping and conveying route for nipping the heads after pulling out in the backward direction; and the cutter 25 that cuts the leaves and stem part 16a at the position between pulling out and conveying machine 22 and the lower conveying machine. In the rear part of the pulling out and conveying machine 22, is set the leaves and stem part releaser 26 for releasing the leaves and stem part after cutting, while a gauge wheel is set in front of the driving wheels 9 on the leaves and stems-releasing side and the gauge wheel-lifting handle of the gauge wheel is allowed to round the upper side than the leaves and stem release position and extended to the rear of the machine body. |
