PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacture of a polyethylene, particularly a high density polyethylene (HDPE) having a bimodal molecular weight distribution. SOLUTION: A manufacture of a polyethylene in the presence of a Ziegler- Natta based-catalyst in continuous two reaction vessels having a total liquid loop is characterized in that, in the first reaction vessel, homopolymerization of ethylene and hydrogen is substantially conducted, accompanied by a small amount of copolymerization of ethylene and a 3-8C α-olefin comonomer to produce the first polyethylene product and, in the second reaction vessel continuously connected to the downstream of the first reaction vessel, copolymerization of an ethylene and the 3-8C α-olefin comonomer is conducted to produce the second polyethylene product, while a hydrogenation catalyst is introduced to the reaction system on the downstream of the first reaction vessel. |
