The system includes shaft-less turbine, one or more fluid submerged driving elements (such as blades) of which drive eccentric elements in an orbiting movement around the center of rotation of the driving elements. Eccentric elements are located e.g. at a distance from the radial inner side of the driving elements, e.g. at the radial outer side of the driving elements. An independent claim is included for a method for producing useful energy from the flow of a water.
