PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recovering method for a positive electrode active mate rial from a lithium ion secondary battery with high efficiency. SOLUTION: This positive electrode active material recovering method recovers cobalt contained in a positive electrode active material from a lithium ion secondary battery of which positive electrode is composed by coating the positive electrode active material formed from lithium cobaltate on an aluminum collector. In this case, cobalt is recovered in the form of cobalt oxalate by means of recovering treatment processes including a first process to dissolve powder containing lithium cobalt composite oxide and oxidized aluminum obtained through processes such as roasting and sifting in dilute hydrochloric acid, a second process to neutralize it in a sodium carbonate, a third process that is a filtering process, and a fourth process to react it with oxalic acid. |
