PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the total decoding processing speed for image data by preventing such a case that the slices having large throughput necessary for decoding are concentrically supplied to a specific decoder circuit. SOLUTION: This decoding device is constituted so as to distribute the encoded image data to the decoder circuits 17 to 20 by slice unit and decode the image data in parallel to each other. Then the divide is provided with a storage means 13 storing the sliced image data by slice unit, a production means 14 producing a table where the information showing the head storage position of every slice stored in the means 13 is corresponding to the identification information added to every slice, and a control means 15 reading the slices from the means 13 while referring to the table and then selectively supplying the slices to the circuits 17 to 20. |
