PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a retrieval time for playing data by performing retrieval from a note data area for note data and a control data area for control data and obtaining playing data concerned in a current position. SOLUTION: Note data, control data, tempo data, beat data, etc., are stored separately on tracks 21 to 24 of a RAM in advance and playing data concerned in the current position are obtained by retrieval from the node data area for the note data and the control data area for the control data. The note data at the position corresponding to the current position are read directly out of the note track 21 and a sounding process of the node is performed by a sound source. In this case, even when music begins to be played from halfway or when the playing position is changed halfway, the note data at the position corresponding to the current position are always read out and used as playing data without performing retrieval from the head of the note track 21. |
