PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently flatten a picture element part by utilizing a constitution in which a shielding layer is provided under TFT in a liquid crystal panel of an active matrix drive method by a TFT drive. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal panel 100 is provided with a liquid crystal layer 50 held between a couple of substrates and picture element electrodes formed in a matrix form on a TFT array substrate 10. The shielding layer is arranged so as to overlap a TFT 30 and the scanning lines looking at them from the bottom. In 1st interlayer insulating layers 12, 13, which are formed on the shielding layer in an area where the shielding layer 11a is formed, and are formed on a TFT array substrate in an area where the shielding layer is not formed, a part opposed to TFT, data lines, scanning lines, etc., is formed in a recessed form looking at it from the side of the opposed substrate. |
