PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively shorten the series of fixing processing time over plural jobs within limited supply electric power. SOLUTION: In the fixing device where both a first fixing member 1 brought into contact with the unfixed image carrying surface of a recording material 5 and a second fixing member 2 brought into contact with a surface opposite to the unfixed image carrying surface of the recording material 5 possess heating sources 3 and 4 and the recording material 5 where an unfixed image is carried at a contact nip area formed between the first and second fixing members 1 and 2 is made to run by rotating them while being brought into press-contact with each other, a supply electric power controlling means 6 by which supply electric power to the heating source 4 of the second fixed member 2 is set to be larger than that during fixing operation after finishing the fixing operation is provided. Also, the fixing device provided with an external heating body 8 is provided with a supply electric power controlling means 9 by which the supply electric power to the external heating body 8 is set to be smaller than that at the time of the fixing operation after finishing the fixing operation by supplying at least the external heating body 8 with electric power while the fixing operation. |
