DISPLAY PLATE AND DISPLAY DEVICE USING SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the display plate which is superior in attractiveness and readability by specifying a contrast for judging the readability which is represented by specific plate surface illumination as a numeral for judging the attractiveness. SOLUTION: The display plate 10 is fixed so that its lower end, for example, is at 40 cm above the ground. An irradiation device 20 for irradiating the display plate 10 is installed, for example, at 29 cm above the upper end of the display plate 10 and further 100 cm before. The plate surface illumination as the numeral for judging the attractiveness for confirming the presence of the display plate 19 itself is obtained and the readability for reading its display part is grasped in the form of the contrast represented by |base luminance -luminance of display part|/(lower luminance between base and display part); and optimum numerals for the both are found respectively. In this case, the plate illuminance is >=50 lux and the said contrast is >=12.
