PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical component characteristic measuring system capable of stably measuring optical component characteristics with high accuracy without being affected by the polarization dependent losses of optical components constituting the system. SOLUTION: A linear polarization multi-wavelength light source is constituted of a distributed feedback laser diodes 101 -108 outputting the signal light having different wavelengths, optical switches 111 -118 properly turning on or off the output light correspondingly to them, and an optical coupler 12. The output light from the multi-wavelength light source is changed in polarized state by a polarization scrambler 30 at random as the test signal light for a DUT 19. When the output light power from the DUT 19 is measured by a light spectrum analyzer 23, the total polarization loss is included, thus the measured result is averaged, and stable and high-accuracy measurement can be made without being affected by the polarization dependent losses of light components constituting a measuring system. |
