PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil winding method and a winder which is capable of properly deciding the exfoliation position and cutting position of line material at all times. SOLUTION: In a coil winding method and a winder, which forms a coil by winding a rectangular wire 1 around the winding core between winding jigs 5 and 6, when the winding progresses to the specified (n) turn, a difference D between the lengths of line materials required for the windings in n-th turn and (n+1)-th turn is detected with a detector 4. Based on this difference D, the position of exfoliation to do exfoliation work to the rectangular wire 1 and the cutting position for cutting the rectangular wire 1 are decided by operation, and when the position of exfoliation of the rectangular wire 1 is veered out to the position which is opposite to an exfoliator 3, the rectangular wire 1 is exfoliated, and also after finish of the winding work, the rectangular wire 1 is cut at the cutting position by a cutting device 8. |
