PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an invalidation method for a storage medium that is easy and inexpensive to produce and surely enables invalidation of an identification means of the storage medium. SOLUTION: This device is constructed as an invalidation means for a storage medium 1, which consists of a first process for manufacturing the storage medium 1 equipment at least partly with an identification element 2, a second process which is used after information obtained from the identification element 2 is recognized as a register configuration and registered or used by verifying it as a predetermined register configuration when the identification 2 is arranged on the basis of specified order, and a third process for having a change processing means 9 change an arrangement state of the identification element 2 of the storage medium 1 and differ from the register configuration when a purpose of the storage medium 1 is achieved.
