PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simulate a breakdown phenomenon, by utilizing a specific expression representing conditions for dissipating energy accumulated between blocks. SOLUTION: The spring coefficient in the tangential direction (y) between blocks, the spring coefficient in the orthogonal direction (x) that orthogonally crosses the tangential direction, and the friction coefficient between blocks are set to k1, kn, and μ, respectively. A point where the energy between blocks reaches zero after the blocks travel in the tangential direction (y) is set to δSLIP, and the amount of relative displacement between a block (i) and a block (j) in the orthogonal direction (x) and the tangential direction (y) is set to xi-xj and yi-yj, respectively. When conditions are met by substituting each value of the expression of k1 |yi-yj-δSLIP|>=-μkn (xi-xj), it is regarded that the energy between the block i and the block j is dissipated in the tangential direction (y) and a breakdown phenomenon is simulated, thus achieving simulation by a computer without depending on empirical rules. |
