METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TRANSMITTING PACKET DATA FROM MEDIUM ACCESS CONTROLLER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for transmitting the segments of packet data from a medium access controller on a lot of physical links. SOLUTION: A giga-bit network node 12 having a giga-bit medium access controller 16 enables the mount of a giga-bit network to use a low-cost data link 22 while using plural 100 MB/s medium interface links 21 connected to a physical interface 20. An arbitration layer 18 divides the data packet from the giga-bit MAC 16 into plural segments and according to a prescribed output protocol, these segments are outputted to plural medium interface links 21. The medium interface corresponding to a destination station collects the data packets again from the segments received from plural transmission routes 22 efficiently distributing the load of data traffic.
