PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate recognizing data being now written during writing in a semiconductor storage. SOLUTION: The semiconductor storage involving word lines W11-Wij and nonvolatile memory cells coupled with these word lines comprises control logics 22, 23 for permitting data being written in the memory cells to be read under the condition a read permit mode signal is asserted. This permits data being written in the memory cells to be read under the condition a read permit mode signal is asserted, thereby facilitating recognizing data being now written during writing in the semiconductor memory.
