PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively replace plural same misspelled words with their candidates by using a data replacement means which can automatically and collectively replace those misspelled words with the data on their candidates. SOLUTION: While the document data are inputted and also printed in a typewriter mode, a dictionary memory 82 is retrieved for every word to check its spelling. Then the address data and the candidate word data on the last character of every misspelled word that is detected by the spelling check in a document input mode and stored in a print data memory 93 are successively stored in a candidate data memory 96. At the same time, plural pairs of misspelled words and their candidates are shown on an LCD display 71. The misspelled words are successively replaced with their candidates after a document is printed. The misspelled words are erased, corrected based on the data on their candidates and then printed. |
