TAPE-LIKE OPTICAL INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape-like optical information recording medium with which a large capacity and sufficiently large reading signal intensity are obtainable and a high C/N is obtainable. SOLUTION: A recording layer consisting of a laser beam responsive compd. and a high-polymer binder is deposited on a tape-like base. The thickness of this recording layer is 0.25 to 0.5 times the wavelength of the laser beam. The state change of the recording layer is induced by irradiation with the laser beam, by which the information is recorded. The information is read by measuring the reflection intensity of the laser beam.
