PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio disk encoding apparatus enabling a user to easily reproduce the audio disk with good use convenience when recording primarily audio signals. SOLUTION: The encoding apparatus has a means for formatting audio data in an arrangement as follows. Each ACB(audio contents block) unit is constituted of an audio control pack (A-CONT pack) at the first field and a plurality of succeeding A packs and V packs. Information for managing audio signals of the succeeding A pack is arranged in the A-CONT pack, similar to TOC information of a CD. Audio data are arranged in the A pack, and other data than the audio data, e.g. closed caption(CC) data as well as video data are arranged in the V pack. The ACB unit comprises an arbitrary number of packs of 0.5-1.0 sec. The A-CONT pack is substantially arranged every 0.5 sec of an audio time.
