The arrangement (21) has several high powered flashing LEDs (8) in a housing and can be retrospectively fitted to any standpipe. Control electronics enable automatic switch-on of the warning device and are supplied with voltage by an accumulator, which can be charged via a socket (11) with a d.c. or a.c. voltage of e.g. 6 to 30 volts using an integrated automatic charging circuit.
