The invention relates to a method and a device for impregnating fibrous material (2), i.e. fiber bundles, hanks, tissues or fiber mats, wherein an impregnating substance is applied on the intermediate space of the fibrous material, surrounding and/or impregnating the individual fibers. The impregnating substance is fed through holes in a feed body (1), through which the fibrous material is conveyed. The device has a feed body with holes to supply an impregnating substance. The device further comprises a conveyor device to move the fibrous material through the device or on the feed body, in addition to devices to supply the impregnating substance to the feed body. According to the invention, in order to provide a method and a device enabling thorough and homogeneous impregnation of the fibrous material, feeding occurs through a very large number of small holes covering a large surface using a substantially homogeneous, porous or permeable material for the feed body and, consequently, the feed body consists of a substantially homogeneous porous body which is permeable to the impregnating substance. |
