In order to monitor the pressure sensor (23) receiving the pressure in an accumulator (17) regulated by a pressure regulating member (16), a model calculation of the expected pressure value in the accumulator (17) is carried out at a given time interval on the basis of the sustained pressure regulated by the pressure regulating member (16) and the modification rate in the mass balance of a medium contained in the accumulator (17) at that given time interval. Said expected pressure value is then compared with the pressure value measured by the pressure sensor (23).
