The method relates to a method for descaling the inside of the preliminary pipe during rolling in a plug rolling mill. According to said method, to remove the scale pressurized water, which is emitted through nozzles in the direction of rolling and fed through the stopper rod and the stopper, is pressed onto the interior surface of the preliminary pipe directly in front of the stopper. This water blasts the scale off the interior surface of the pipe and flushes the scale out of the pipe against the direction of rolling. To carry out this method the invention provides for a device in which the pressurized water used for descaling of the interior is supplied via a valve (13, 17) which is controlled by the stopper (5, 6) and can be opened and closed mechanically. The valve is impinged upon by the deformation force applied in the direction of the pipe axis and opens against the system pressure of the pressurized water (1) and closes with the system pressure of the pressurized water (1) when the deformation force acting on the stopper (5, 6) ceases. |
