The invention relates to a method for transmitting data in a cellular mobile phone network in which data channels which are transmitted to a radio cell are distinguishable by split codes assigned to said channels, whereby the split codes are taken from a defined set of 12 chip length split codes. The method is especially suited for use in third generation TD/CDMA mobile radio networks.
