Detectors (6) determine if a card has been correctly inserted in the slot (2). Solenoid or motor-operated snubbers (7) grip the card then the read/write head (5) engages. The card carries the moving body (10) on its guide (11) to the left. A separate head (9) reads magnetic strip cards. Heads can be placed on both sides to accept whichever card face is presented. |
