Cofferdam tie-in clamp of threaded rod anchored on to walling flange

The threaded rod (1) of the cofferdam clamp projects far enough beyond its bearing plates to extend from a subsequently applied anchoring press to screw onto the press by a nut (2). In the release procedure, the press is thrust onto the protruding end of the rod (1) which is then drawn tight onto the press by the nut (2). The press then applies pressure to the bearing plate as an abutment so as to pull on the rod (1). This lifts the nut slightly off the bearing plate to reduce the cohesion between nut and plate and allow the nut to be screwed off for removal along with the press thus allowing the de-tensioned rod to be removed likewise.
