The formation of stacks of coins is facilitated with the use of a fixture (1). This is formed with a groove that has a fixed end wall (3) and a sliding stop (5). The coins are entered into the groove and are held in a stacked pile by the end surface of the sliding stop which is then secured by a set screw (8).
