The invention relates to a method for cutting workpieces with a non-round or inconstant contour on usual commercial programmable turning machines. According to the invention, the application and combination of programmed threading cycles and rising and falling values for the diametral and longitudinal axis or the gradient, a pilger step technique and interlaced machining sequences has almost unlimited possibilities. A preferred application of the inventive method is the production of special screw threads on screw-on hip cups e.g., with almost any clamping, neutral or clearance angle of the thread wings. The invention can be used to produce an advantageous hip cup with thread wings consisting of displaced screw surfaces. |
