A permanent magnet motor has: a stator 91) which has a winding for three phase AC and on which a number of teeth project in a slotted section which is part of the stator; a number of individual permanent magnets (7) which are located on the inside of a rotor; magnetic flux circuits for the north pole with a common connection to the north pole of several of the permanent magnets; magnetic flux circuits for the south pole with a common connection to the south pole of several of the permanent magnets; north magnetic poles in the form of protruding poles of the north pole which form a part of the magnetic flux circuit for the north pole and which are positioned in a section around the rotor periphery; and south magnetic poles in the form of protruding poles of the south pole which form a part of the magnetic flux circuit for the south pole and which lie in a section around the rotor periphery, alternating with the protruding north poles.
