The invention relates to a method for blank production of ball bearing retainers intended for homocinitic joints. The ball bearing retainers are provided with ball race-shaped inner and outer bearing surfaces (4, 3) and ball bearing pockets (5) for accommodating torque transmitting ball bearings. In order to be able to produce such ball bearing retainers (2) quickly, economically and in a manner which is as fully automatic as possible, the invention provides that the successive working steps are carried out starting from a tube (1) whose outer diameter approximately corresponds to the outer diameter of the ball bearing retainer (2) which is to be manufactured: a) Non-cutting forming of an end area of the tube (1) which approximately corresponds to the width of the ball bearing retainer (2) in order to construct the ball race-shaped inner and outer bearing surfaces (4, 3); b) constructing the ball bearing pockets (5) in the ball race-shaped bearing surfaces (3, 4), and; c) tapping the end area of the tube (1) which machines in the working steps a) and b). |
