An exhaust gas recirculation system for returning part of exhaust gas of an engine to an intake system has first and second gas introduction ports for directing the EGR gas into an intake air passage downstream of a throttle valve. The first and second introduction ports are opened, respectively, to first and second mixing points downstream of first and second swing ends of the throttle valve, aimed in opposite directions, and inclined downstream with respect to the longitudinal direction of the intake passage in a manner as to mix the EGR gas efficiently with the fresh intake air and to prevent deposits.
