The present invention provides prismatic batteries having improved high drain capability. A battery structure is provided wherein the laminated electrodes are bent into a bow shape inside the battery casing and the anode and cathode are brought into close connection. In addition, the two opposite sides of the battery container are bent in the same direction into a bow shape, and the battery container can be prevented from bulging due to increased internal pressure. Therefore, the electrode element can remain connected tightly in the direction of lamination even when there is an increase in the internal pressure. Hence the anode and cathode stay in close connection for a long period and, as a consequence, a battery of superior high drain capability for an extended period is provided. |
