<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent negative effect on energy consumption by adjusting the thickness of the adsorbent bed depending on the average particle size of the adsorbent particle to be used, especially practically only on the diameter in the case the adsorbent has a ball-like shape and considering the shape restriction of dead volume. SOLUTION: This method is for separating gas flow practically containing oxygen and nitrogen based on prior adsorption of nitrogen in at least one bed having a thickness e of the adsorptive substance adjusted depending on the average particle size d in at least one separation zone. In this case, the thickness e of the bed of the adsorptive substance is so set as to satisfy the formula of 300<=e/d<1/2> <=1,000 (where (e) and (d) are in mm).</p> |
