摘要 Surgical grasping and holding pliers (10) have a shaft, at least two jaw parts (14, 16) and a handle. The handle is operationally connected to a mechanism for opening and closing the jaw parts (14, 16). The mechanism is actuated by the force of a spring so as to press the jaw parts (14, 16) into the closing position. By manipulating the handle, the mechanism can be moved against the force of the spring so as to open the jaw parts (14, 16). A stop (64) stops the jaw parts (14, 16) in a particular position. A device designed as a rigid gear engages the mechanism and serves to forcibly move the jaw parts (14, 16) into a defined final closed position (D), in which the latter exert a predetermined holding force onto an object (90) held between the jaw parts (14, 16). The device has a stop (58) which prevents the jaw parts from moving beyond the final closed position (D) even when a stronger force is exerted. The stop (64) stops the jaw parts (14, 16) in the final closed position (D).
