PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the heat transfer coefficient of a heat exchanger in a reactor, contract the heat exchanger, effectively utilize the cross section of the reactor and economically obtain 1,2-dichloroethane by filling particles having a higher particle density than that of a catalyst and inert to a reaction together with the catalyst particles in the fluidized bed reactor. SOLUTION: When a fluidized bed type oxychlorination of ethylene is carried out, a mixture prepared by mixing (A) catalyst particles with (B) catalytically or chemically inert particles having 1-3 particle density when the particle density of the component A is 1 is used. The amount of the added component B is preferably 5-50 wt.% based on the total particles after adding the component B to the component A. Particles prepared by baking γ-alumina which is a usual catalyst carrier without supporting an active component thereon and increasing the particle density are preferably used as the component B. Otherwise, particles obtained by supporting a metal inert to the reaction such as Mg on the γ-alumina and increasing the particle density are preferably used. |
