PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film for metal plate lamination having an excellent formability in, for example, a deep drawing process, and excellent in heat resistance, impact resistance and property of retaining taste and flavor. SOLUTION: This polyester film is a biaxially oriented film of a polyester copolymer having an ethylene terephthalate as a main repeated unit and a melting point of 210-245 deg.C. The polyester film has a maximum of peak temperatures of loss modulus (Te) and a glass transition temperature (Tg) determined by DSC measurement respectively satisfying formulas I and II, an X-ray diffraction intensity ratio which satisfies formula III, and an plane orientation coefficient of 0.100-0.150. formula I: Tg>=78 formula II: Te-Tg<=30 (Wherein Tg is a glass transition temperature( deg.C) determined by DSC measurement after heat melting at 290 deg.C - quenching, and Te is a maximum of peak temperatures of loss modulus ( deg.C).) formula III: 0.10<=I(1-10)/I(100)<=0.40 (Wherein I(100) is an X-ray diffraction intensity at a (100) surface parallel to the film surface, I(1-10) is an X-ray diffraction intensity at a (1-10) surface parallel to the film surface, and I(1-10)/I(100) is an X-ray diffraction intensity ration.). |
