PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily prepare the thermal transfer medium and to save electric power by a small-sized apparatus. SOLUTION: In a method for preparing this thermal transfer recording medium, a UV-curable heat-sensitive transfer ink 6 is applied on a base film 2 and the UV-curable thermal transfer ink 6 is cured by irradiating intermittently it with UV. In addition, in an apparatus 1 for practicing this method for preparation, a cylindrical drum 8 is freely rotatably arranged on the downstream side of a coating machine 5 in the transferring direction of a base film 2 and the base film 2 coated with a UV-curable thermal transfer ink 6 by means of the coating machine 5 is wound on this cylindrical drum 8 so as to position the coated face on the outer peripheral side. In addition, on the outer periphery of this cylindrical drum 8, a plurality of UV lamps 9, 9... for irradiating intermittently UV are arranged at a specified interval in the peripheral direction and reflective plates 10 for directing UV irradiated from these UV lamps 9 to the outer peripheral face of the cylindrical drum 8 are respectively arranged on the circumference of each of these UV lamps 9. |
