PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin compsn. which exhibits a good processibility, a low heat distortion, and sufficient tensile strength and elongation and does not contain a halogen flame retardant by compounding a silane-graft olefinic base resin with a metal hydroxide having at least two hydroxyl groups, expanda ble graphite, and a silicone. SOLUTION: The silane-graft olefinic base resin (A) is prepd. by subjecting an olefin resin to reaction in the presence of a free-radical generator and a silanol condensation catalyst. The metal hydroxide (B) is, e.g. magnesium hydroxide. Pref., exapndable graphite (C) used expands by 50-150 times by vol. when burned. A silicone (i.e., a silicone polymer) (D) used is to be the one which does not contain halogen atoms or cyano groups capable of generating a toxic gas. 100 pts.wt. ingredient A is compounded with 30-200 pts.wt. ingredient B, 3-40 pts.wt. ingrgedient C, and 0.1-20 pts.wt. ingredient D. |
