PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of rotary die cylinder for manufacturing a grid-like recessed and projected plate member having extremely excellent practicability capable of machining a sophisticated emboss shape of high quality at low cost. SOLUTION: In a rotary die cylinder manufacturing method, a machining object member 1 of plane plate shape is pressed from the front and rear faces to form a grid-like recessed and projected pattern on a machining object member 1, and electrodes on which projected sections and recessed sections are formed alternately in front and rear and left and right through inclined sections are provided, and a cylindrical main body is formed on the outer periphery of a main shaft, and the discharge machining or electro-chemical machining (hereinafter referred to simply the discharge machining) is applied on the outer periphery of a main body by using the electrodes, and recessed sections 17 and projected sections corresponding to the projected sections and recessed sections on the electrodes are formed alternately through inclined sections 18 on the surface of the main body. Successively the electrodes are moved from the contact position of the main body by half inch in the both of circumferential direction and the axial direction and the discharge machining is applied, and recessed sections 14 and projected sections 13 corresponding to the projected sections and recessed sections on the electrodes are formed alternately through the inclined sections 15. |
