PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lubricating oil composition for an automatic and an infinite variable-speed drives having a sufficient friction coefficient in a high sliding velocity region in the automatic and infinite variable-speed drives containing a torque converter equipped with a lockup clutch by compounding a base oil of a lubricating oil with a specific cyclic dicarboxylic acid anhydride. SOLUTION: This lubricating oil composition is obtained by compounding a base oil of a lubricating oil (a mineral oil, a synthetic oil, a mixture thereof or the like) with at least one kind of cyclic dicarboxylic acid anhydride substituted with an alkyl group or an alkenyl group preferably any of compounds represented by formula I [R is a 6-300C alkyl or a 6-300C alkenyl having 80-4,200 molecular weight; X is Cm H2n-1 or C<2> H2n-3 ; (n) is 2-11], formula II [(n) is 1-4], formula III [(m) is 1-4; (n) is 1-2] and formula IV [(n) is 1-4]} in an amount of 0.1-10 wt.%, preferably 0.1-7.0 wt.% based on the total amount of the composition. |
