PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent for an unhardened coating material, having no problem of environment pollution, without requiring the consideration of explosion-protection and capable of providing excellent detergency to the coating material. SOLUTION: This detergent for an unhardened coating material comprises 10-40 wt.% at least one of diethylene glycol monobutyl ether and 3-methoxy-3- methylbutyl acetate, 16-50 wt.% water and 74-10 wt.% solubilizer such as N- methylpyrrolidone,θ-butyrolactone and 3-methoxy-3-methylbutanol for solubilizing both of the before components.
