<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail and its manufacturing method by which a slip can be prevented even if it is gripped by a wet/soapy hand. SOLUTION: On the surface of a metallic pipe, rough face parts 11 roughened by abrasive blasting and smooth parts 13 with smooth surfaces are arranged. Even if the rough face parts 11 re gripped by a wet/soapy hand, the hand hardly slips. If a double-structure metallic pipe consisting of an outer layer and an inner layer is used, the outer layer is raised in the rough face part 11 because of residual compression stress in an abrasive blasting time so as to be expanded in diameter. In this way, the surface of the handrail 9 is formed into a wavy shape along the longitudinal direction, so that slip preventing effect can be improved. When the shape of the rough face part 11 is specially designed, a pattern can be formed on the surface of the handrail 9.</p> |
