<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method for exhaust gas in electric furnace which can perform the combustion and thermal decomposition of harmful matter without using a secondary combustor. SOLUTION: The exhaust gas produced in an electric furnace 1 is led to a melted steel storage container 2. The melted steel storage container 2 accommodates melted steel 3 refined in precharge. The exhaust gas blown in the melted steel storage container 2 comes to high temperature, being heated by the heat radiation from the surface of the melted steel 3, the heat conduction by convection, etc. Therefore, harmful matter which becomes the precursor for composition of dioxin such as tar components, etc. in exhaust gas or the dioxin itself are thermally decomposed or combusted. The heated exhaust gas is led to a cooling tower 4, and is cooled by the cooling water radiated from a spray nozzle 5. The cooled exhaust gas is discharged from a chimney 7 after being cleared of dust by a bag filter 6.</p> |
