PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new nucleic acid fragment comprising a nucleic acid fragment having a specific base sequence, useful for the detection, etc., of Arthrobacter atrocyaneus species or 3A strain and further useful as a primer, etc., for a polymerase chain reaction. SOLUTION: This new nucleic acid fragment has a base sequence selected from the group consisting of formulae I to IV and is useful as a primer, etc., for a polymerase chain reaction used for the specific detection, etc., of a bacterium belonging to Arthrobacter atrocyaneus or an oligotrophic microorganism Arthrobacter atrocyaneus 3A strain capable of growing under oligotrophic conditions and degrading phenol. The nucleic acid fragment is obtained by searching for a base sequence of a 16S-rRNA gene by a bacterium of the genus Arthrobacter or the giant database of the relative bacterial strains thereof, designing a primer for a polymerase chain reaction and chemically synthesizing the nucleic acid fragment by using a DNA synthesizer so as to provide the base sequence according to the design. |
