PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor that is able to secure a large quantity of lubricating oil in a crankcase at all times. SOLUTION: An air charging passage 48 connects a discharge chamber 39 and a crankcase 15 together. An extraction steam passage 47 connects this crankcase 15 and a suction chamber 38 together. Since opening of the air charging passage 48 is adjusted by a capacity control valve 49, pressure in the crankcase 15 is altered, whereby a tilt angle of a swash plate 21 is altered and discharge capacity is thus adjusted. An oil separator 61 is installed in the point midway in the extraction steam passage 47. This oil separator 61 and the crankcase 15 both are connected to each other via the air charging passage 48.
